Cold Can Be Hazardous to a Pet

"*Keep these hints in mind:
Puppies, sick, or older dogs;
those that have some medical
condition and some short hair
breeds (eg. Chihuahua)
are more sensitive to the cold.
*It is also important to let them
right back in after an outing.
*It's important to wipe off their
paws, legs, and tummy when
coming in after snowy trips, but
remember some de-icers (road
crew salt & home owners) are
poisonous and skin irritants to
pets.
* Don't let pets drink from puddles
or drips of antifreeze on roads or
garages. It can be poisonous.
*Dogs get chilled: they can
wear coats & sweaters.

*Don't leave pets in a running
vehicle alone. Nor leave them in
a non-running, COLD car. They are
sensitive to the cold, like the hot.
*Be careful about leaving cats &
dogs out during very cold days,
without a means of SAFE warmth.
*Always honk when starting up the
car, because cats crawl up into the
motor areas to keep warm. That may
be fatal to them.Give them time to
jump out."

using a cloth tape
measure.
2. Measure from
the nape (base of the
neck on its topside/back
where its collar lands)
to the top or base of
the tail (where the tail
meets the body.) No
tail is necesary for this

3. Tape measure the
girth or widest, fullest
area around the belly
and back. Like our
waistline, only find
